Timeline

Summer 2020– Initial discussions with local Rabbinic Authorities to establish a perimeter.

Summer 2020– First walk through town with Rav Hamchshir for initial site proposal.

Fall 2020– Planning changes for location.

Winter 2021– Further discussion with the local Rabbinic Authority.

Spring 2021– New site visit and site plan.

Summer 2021– Rabbinic authority sign-off for “Spring Street Eruv”.

Summer 2021– Full plan in place for installation.

Summer 2021– Applications submitted to appropriate authorities.

Summer 2021– Consulting arrangements with experienced Eruv coordinators from neighboring municipalities.

June 2021– Spring Street LLC formally incorporated, insurance policy enacted to comply with local/authority rules, and initial application fees paid to Verizon for the use of telephone poles.

July-August 2021 – Materials ordered and delivered, application pending with Verizon for use of telephone poles.

Fall-Winter 2021 – Approval required by Central Hudson, local electric utility company (ELCO). ELCO contract received and completed.

Spring 2022 – Application approved by Central Hudson, pending inspection for final permits. ELCO engineer signs off on the work.

June 2022 – All licenses and permits issued. Website constructed, WhatsApp group created, plan communicated to the community and fundraising campaign launched.

June 28-30, 2022 / 27-29 Sivan 5782 – Rav Avraham Sender Goldberger, the Rav Hamachshir, and Micha Shotkin, Eruv builder, visit Tannersville and install Eruv. Eruv Kashrus is verified and given certification by the Rav HaMachshir.

July 2, 2022 / 3 Tamuz 5782 – Inaugural Shabbos (Parshas Korach) of Spring Street Eruv.

May 2023 – The Eruv is repaired from winter wear and tear by Rav Avraham Sender Goldberger, the Rav HaMachshir, and Kosher status is recertified for the coming year.

June 20, 2023 / 28 Iyar 5783 – The Spring Street Eruv’s second season is kicked off on Shabbos Parshas Bamidbar.
